Railway Recruitment Board invites RRB ALP Online Application 2018 from eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technicians. RRB ALP Application Form 2018 complete in all respect should be submitted online only before 05 March 2018 midnight in order to participate in RRB ALP Recruitment 2018.
RRB ALP 2018 First stage Computer Based Test (CBT) is tentatively scheduled during April and May 2018. Exact RRB ALP Exam Date will be published on the websites in due course.
Interested candidates should ensure that they fulfill all RRB ALP CEN 01/2018 Eligibility Conditions prescribed for the post(s) as on 5th March 2018. Candidates waiting for results of prescribed educational qualification are not eligible.
Also candidates must ensure that they fulfill the prescribed medical standards for the post(s) they are opting for in RRB ALP Recruitment 2018. Candidates who are found medically unsuitable shall not be given any alternative appointment.
Candidate should be minimum of 18 years as on 01 Jul 2018. Upper age limit is 28 years, however certain age relaxations are applicable.
RRB ALP Admit Card for First Stage CBT can be downloaded from the websites of any of the RRBs. RRB ALP CEN 01/2018 Call Letters for Second Stage CBT, Computer Based AT and DV can only be downloaded from website of the concerned RRB . The exam center, date and shift indicated in the call letter shall be final.
Candidates should have their own mobile number and valid & active personal email id and keep them active for the entire duration of recruitment as RRBs shall send all RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 related communications only through SMS and email till the recruitment is completely over. There is no change of mobile number and e-mail address at any stage.
There shall be two stages examination, both stages are Computer Based Tests (CBT) and are common for ALP and Technician. Candidates who have opted for ALP and qualified in Second Stage CBT have to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT) in addition. Marks will be normalized in all the stages of RRB ALP 2018 exam.

If candidates secure marks, equal to or above the Minimum Qualifying Marks in the First Stage CBT they shall be able to select their option for preference of Railways and Posts within the chosen RRB.
These qualified candidates may study the updated Vacancy of RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 and fill the options online as per their eligibility (Qualification, Medical Standard etc) for various posts. It may be noted that candidates can choose only one RRB and indicate their preference of Railway Units and posts against vacancies notified for the chosen RRB only.
After this, RRB wise shortlisting of candidates for RRB ALP 2018 Second Stage CBT shall be done at the rate of 15 times the vacancies for that RRB based on the merit of candidates in First Stage CBT.
There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in First and Second Stage CBT. 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer. There shall be no negative marking for Computer Based Aptitude Test.

Percentage of marks may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
RRBs conduct verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidates have qualified in all the stages of examinations and are shortlisted for RRB ALP & Technician Document Verification.
Free Sleeper Class Railway Pass admissible to SC / ST candidates will be part of RRB ALP 2018 Call Letter when they are called for various stages of selection viz. CBT / AT / DV.
Selected candidates for the post of ALP and Technicians will have to undergo training wherever prescribed and during training period only stipend will be paid as applicable.
Scale of pay: Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of `19900/- plus other allowances as admissible.
RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 Vacancies
Railway ALP 2018 vacancies are provisional and may change as per requirement. RRBs will publish updated Vacancy Table on their websites indicating the RRB wise vacancies after the completion of First Stage CBT
Candidates serving (including those undergoing induction training / probation) in any Central / State Government Department including Railways or Public Sector Undertakings may apply directly to the RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 duly informing their Employer. Shortlisted candidates should produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer on the date of DV failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

The First Stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and / or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The score of first stage exam shall be used only for short listing of candidates for second stage exam as per their merit. The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions as given in RRB ALP 2018 Syllabus for First Stage.
Short listing of Candidates for the Second Stage CBT exam shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in the First Stage CBT Exam. Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of RRB ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.

Part B is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).
Candidates with ITI / Trade Apprenticeship qualification will be required to appear in the section having questions from the relevant trade. Candidates holding Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP have to select relevant trade from the list of trades listed against their engineering discipline / HSC (10+2).

Candidates equal to 8 times number of RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 vacancies for each of the communities shall be short listed for Computer Based AT. These candidate are shortlisted based on their performance in Part A of the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B. This test is not applicable for Technician Posts. Such shortlisted candidates should produce the Vision Certificate in the prescribed format as per Annexure – VI to appear in the Computer Based AT.
The Computer Based Aptitude Test shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi. There shall be no negative marking in Computer Based AT.
RRB ALP CEN 02/2018 merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based AT.

Based on the performance of candidates subject to their qualifying the required part as per the details given in the table above candidates equal to the number of vacancies in RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 will be called for Document Verification.
In addition, candidates equal to 50% of the number of RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 vacancy for various posts will also be called for DV. These additional candidates will, however, be considered for empanelment only if there is a shortfall in empanelment.
In case of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e., older person shall be given higher seniority.
Verification of Original Documents and Format of Certificates
Shortlisted candidate for DV are required to produce all original documents along with two sets of self-attested photo copies of all documents at the time of DV.
Further, these candidates should upload the scanned copies (in true color) of all the original certificates as applicable prior to their RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 DV date through www.rrbdv.in portal
All certificates should be either in English or in Hindi only. Where certificates are not in English / Hindi, self attested translated version (In Hindi / English) should be produced wherever / whenever required. Certificates produced during
the RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 DV should be strictly in the prescribed formats.
Documents to be brought by candidates in original (as applicable) for verification are as indicated below:
- Matriculation / High School Examination Certificate or Equivalent certificate as Proof for Date of Birth and Matriculation Qualification. (The candidates’ name and the father/ mothers’ name mentioned in the application will be
verified with reference to the names mentioned in this certificate.)

- NCVT / SCVT/ Diploma / Engineering Degree Certificate with Semester wise Mark Sheets (As applicable).
- SC/ST certificate in the format as per Annexure – I.

- Decree of divorce / judicial separation from the competent Court of Law as applicable and Affidavit stating that the candidate has not remarried.
- Death Certificate of spouse in case of widow candidate and Affidavit stating that the candidate has not remarried.
- Ex-Servicemen candidates who secure civil employment after applying for this CEN should give self declaration to the concerned employer about the details of application against this CEN, as soon as they join. The acknowledged copy of this declaration along with NOC from the civil employer should be produced during DV.
Candidates who wish to be considered against vacancies reserved / or seek age-relaxation must submit the requisite/relevant certificate in original from the Competent Authority, in the prescribed format at the time of DV.
Otherwise, their claim for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/ExSM/PWD status will not be entertained and their candidature/ applications will be considered under General (UR) category, if eligible.
The Educational qualification certificates viz Provisional or Regular Degree / Diploma / ITI / NTC / NAC should contain the date of issue. In case, date of issue of these certificates is after the closing date of the RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 notification, then the consolidated mark sheet with date of declaration of the final qualifying exam or individual mark sheets of all the semesters with date of declaration of each semester results should be submitted. In case of non availability of date in any of these certificates, then a certificate indicating date of declaration of result from the Technical Board / Council (NCVT / SCVT) / University to this effect should be produced at the time of DV.
