Online applications will be invited for eligible Male and Female candidates for the recruitment of 8619 constable post from June 01, 2018. Vacancy Details of RPF Constable Recruitment 2018

The Indian Railways has introduced the total number of 8619 vacancies for the post of constable. In which 4403 vacancies are reserved for the Male candidate and 4216 vacancies are reserved for the Female candidate.

Eligibility Criteria for RPF Constable Recruitment 2018

  • Date of birth mentioned in 10th/Matriculation or equivalent certificate alone shall
    be acceptable. The lower and upper age limit indicated in the Employment
    Notice will be reckoned as on July 01, 2018.
  • RPF has set the Lower and upper age limit for different categories given below:
    • Lower age limit for all categories is 18 years.
    • The upper age limit for an unreserved category 25 years.
    • The upper age limit for OBC Non-creamy layer is 28 years.
    • The upper age limit for SC / ST candidates is 30 years.

Note: If a candidate is eligible for relaxation of age on more than one ground, he/she would be accorded the highest of the age relaxations (not cumulative) for which he/she is eligible. No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC-Non-creamy Layer (NCL) candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.

Application Form for RPF Constable Recruitment 2018

Application Form will be released online by Railway Protection Force on the official website of Railway, constable.rpfonlinereg.org. Applications will only be submitted by online mode. No other mode of submission of application will be allowed. For the ease of candidate, the direct link to apply online will also be updated here for the sake of candidates. The requisite amount of fee is to be paid through internet baking or debit/ credit cards.

Admit Card

Eligible candidates will be able to download admit card from the Indian Railways website, constable.rpfonlinereg.org about 10 days before the date of the CBT/PET/PMT/Document Verification(as applicable). No, admit card will be sent to candidates by post.

Candidates must bring their admit card along with a valid Photo ID (viz. Voter Card,
Aadhaar Card, printout of e-Aadhaar, Passport, Identity Card issued by the employer
in case the candidate is a Govt. Employee, School/College/University Photo ID card in original to the examination hall, failing which candidates shall not be allowed to appear for the CBT /PET /PMT/DV (as applicable).

Scheme of Examination

The entire recruitment process shall involve a Computer Based Test (CBT),
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification.

Phase I – Computer Based Test

All the eligible candidates have to undergo a Computer Based Test on the specified date, time and venue. The total duration will be of 90 mins and consist of 120 objective type questions.

Candidates will be required to answer all questions and shall be awarded 01(one) mark for each correct answer. Negative marks shall be awarded for every wrong answer. 1/3 marks shall be deducted for every wrong answer. No mark shall be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted.

Phase II – Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates will be called for PET and
PMT to the extent of 10 times the category wise total vacancy in Group of Zonal
Railways/RPSF notified. However, this limit may be increased/decreased as required
ensuring availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts. Passing Physical
Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. No marks
will be awarded. The criteria for PET is as under:

Phase III- Document Verification

  1. Based on the performance of candidates in the CBT and subject to their qualifying in PET & PMT, candidates will be called for Document Verification.
  2. In cases of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by the age criteria i.e. older person shall be given higher seniority.
  3. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical
    Groups. Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and category certificates, verification of character and antecedents of the candidates from the local Administration and successful completion of initial training.
  4. Candidates may please note that CRC only recommends names of the impaneled candidates and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Railway Administration.
  5. Candidates who do not appear for Document Verification will not be considered in the final selection, irrespective of their performance in written examination and
    PET/PMT.

Result

Candidates qualified and securing marks in the merit list (10 times of the category-wise vacancies notified) and in the CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification (DV). However, in case
requisite candidates do not qualify in PET/PMT and it is assessed that vacancies in
any category /Group for Male/Female/Ex-Servicemen will not be filled up, additional
candidates equal to 10 times the number which is likely to remain vacant after the
first round of PET/PMT may again be called from amongst the candidates who have
secured minimum qualifying marks for the second round of PET/PMT. There shall be a
maximum of two rounds of PET /PMT. After that, RPF will release final merit list online on the official website of Railway, constable.rpfonlinereg.org.

Selection Process

The selection for RPF Constable Recruitment 2018 will be based on Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test /Physical Measurement Test (PET/PMT), Document Verification and lastly Medical Test.

Computer Based Test: Firstly, candidates have to go through the computer-based test which is the first phase of the recruitment process.

Physical Efficiency Test /Physical Measurement Test (PET/PMT): The candidate who qualifies the CBT will undergo through the PET/PMT to check the Physical Fitness, and efficiency of the candidate.

Document Verification: After the CBT and PET/PMT, based on the performance candidates will be called for document verification process.

Medical Examination: The candidates who will appear in Document Verification will be sent for a medical examination at the Railway Hospitals to test the candidate physical fitness.

Training

Selected candidates will have to undergo a rigorous initial training in any one of the RPF/RPSF training centre or any other such institution as decided by the Railway Administration. The trainee recruits/cadets will be given a stipend of Rs. 21,700/- plus other allowances as admissible under the Railway Rules during the period of training. Passing the Final Examination at the end of the training is a must for appointment to the Force.
