A lot of hustle and bustle was seen among the candidates applying for Railway Recruitment 2018 Group D exam. However, the statement from Rail Minister Piyush Goyal gave some relief to the applicants. According to the Railway Minister, applicants who will be appearing for the exam will get the refund of RRB Group D Recruitment fee.
As per the new rule released by the Ministry of Railways pertaining to RRB Recruitment 2018, the candidates of all the categories will be refunded a part of a fee paid by them while filling the online application for RRB vacancies. This step is going to be beneficial for the applicants who were earlier worried about the increased fee for Group D, Technician and ALP posts to fill approximately 90,000 vacancies. The changes will be applicable to General as well as reserved category candidates.
RRB has assured that the applicants belonging to a general category will be refunded Rs. 400 out of Rs. 500 fee for examination paid by them. On the other hand, the applicants of the reserved category will get a full refund of Rs. 250 which was paid while filling the application form for RRB Recruitment 2018. To get the refund, the candidate is required to appear for the first stage of a selection process which is Computer Based Test (CBT). RRB is going to deduct only the additional bank charges as applicable. If an applicant does not appear in the exam, he/she would not be eligible to claim a refund of the examination fee paid.
Earlier Rail Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the fee for Railway Recruitment 2018 has been hiked as every year number of students apply for the exam but does not turn up for it. Railway and the government spends a huge amount of money for conducting the exam. Therefore only the candidates who are going to appear for the RRB Recruitment 2018 exam are going to get the refund.
This step by Ministry of Railways is not only going to benefit the candidates but also it will reduce the burden of the exam conducting authorities as only the serious candidates are going to apply for the exam and fewer preparations will be required. Moreover, it is also going to decrease the number of online applications received and thus increasing the competition. Chances of getting a right candidate selected increases manyfold.
RRB Recruitment 2018 fee is going to be refunded to the medium which was used for filling the application form.
Another facility provided to the applicants who are going to appear for Railway Recruitment 2018 exam is that they can now sign in the application form in any language they desire and not just English or Hindi. Also, on February 18, 2018, the protests in Bihar and Kerala has forced the railways to increase the upper age limit of the candidates who want to get employed in Indian Railways.
